Window cleaning has two very different customers: homeowners who want sparkling windows a few times a year, and storefronts that want clean glass every week or two. Your flyers and your Google Business Profile should speak to both, clearly and quickly. Here is what to include.
Part 1: Flyers, door hangers and storefront cards
Residential flyer or door hanger
- A headline about the result: “Streak-Free Windows, Inside and Out.”
- What is included: interior and exterior glass, frames and sills, screens cleaned, with tracks as an option.
- How pricing works: “Priced by number of windows and stories. Free quote in minutes.”
- A neighborhood hook, if true: “We clean windows on your street every spring and fall.”
- A trust signal: insured, a short review, or your star rating.
- One way to book: a QR code to your quote form and a number that takes texts.
A clean photo of sparkling glass, ideally with a view through it, works better than clip art. Spring and fall are natural times to distribute residential flyers, along with the weeks before major holidays when people host guests.
Storefront card
For businesses, keep it to a small card or one-page sheet you hand to the owner or manager in person. Include:
- “Storefront window cleaning, weekly or every two weeks”
- Early morning or after-hours service, so you never get in the way of customers
- A simple per-visit price for their storefront, written on the card if you can estimate it on the spot
- Your insurance status, since many businesses ask
- Your name and direct phone
Walking a commercial strip and offering a free first clean of the front door glass is a classic way to start a storefront route. Our window cleaning pricing guide covers storefront and residential pricing.
Where to hand them out
Neighborhoods around current customers, homes with lots of glass or two stories (where people are least likely to DIY), and commercial strips with many small storefronts. Check local rules and HOA restrictions on door hangers, and never put anything in mailboxes.
Part 2: Your Google Business Profile
Basics
- Set it up as a service-area business and hide your home address
- Primary category: “Window cleaning service”
- Use your real business name, without extra keywords
- List the towns you actually serve
Services
Add each one: residential window cleaning, storefront window cleaning, screen cleaning, track cleaning, hard water stain removal, skylights, and anything else you offer, like gutter cleaning or pressure washing. Note recurring service options.
Photos
Glass is tricky to photograph, so focus on shots that show the difference: before-and-after of hard water spots or dirty screens, squeegee action shots, clean storefront glass, your branded vehicle and you working safely with proper equipment. Our window cleaning equipment guide covers the gear.
Description
Plain and specific: “Residential and storefront window cleaning across the North Shore. Inside and out, screens and sills included. Weekly and biweekly storefront routes. Free quotes by window count. Insured.” Only claim what is true.
The quote form behind it
Link your profile to a quote form that asks for the address, number of windows, number of stories, inside or outside, screens and tracks, and any hard-to-reach glass. Check that it works on a phone and that submissions reach you. If you are not sure, Leadhound’s free website form check can test it.
Reviews
Ask every residential customer for a review the same day, while the windows are still gleaming. For storefronts, ask the owner after the first month of service. Reply to every review.
Make everything match
Same name, logo, phone and service list on your flyers, cards, vehicle, website and Google profile. When someone finds your door hanger, searches your name and sees the same brand with good reviews, booking feels safe.
Get your quote form and price sheets built
Our window cleaning starter kit includes quotes by window count and stories, recurring service plans, storefront and residential price sheets, and a ladder safety checklist. The done-for-you launch also sets up your Google Business Profile. We build the kit once 25 people vote for it, and voters get 20% off at launch. Vote for the window cleaning kit.
Google’s profile guidelines change, so check their current rules. Flyer and solicitation rules vary by city and HOA.
