How to split an image into a grid

  1. Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC image into the splitter above.
  2. Pick “Instagram grid or custom grid” and choose how many pieces across and down.
  3. Check the preview, then download the pieces as one ZIP.

Instagram grid sizes (3×1, 3×2, 3×3)

Instagram profiles show three posts per row, so grids are always 3 across: 3×1 for a wide banner row, 3×2 for six posts and 3×3 for a full nine-post puzzle. The files are numbered in posting order: post number 1 first, which is the bottom-right piece, and the last piece you post ends up at the top left. Instagram’s profile grid can crop tiles a little, so keep faces and text away from the edges of each piece.

Print a poster in tiles

Pick “Poster across printed pages”, choose Letter or A4 paper and how many pages across and down. You get one PDF with a page per tile. Print it at 100% (actual size), trim the edges and tape the pages together for a big poster, banner or wall template.

Questions

Is there a watermark?

No. The pieces are yours, with no watermark and no sign-up.

Is my image uploaded?

No. The splitting happens in your browser, so the image never leaves your device.

What image size works best?

The bigger the better. Each piece is a slice of the original, so a small image gives small, soft pieces. For a 3×3 Instagram grid, start with an image at least 3,000 pixels wide.
